DHH Washington DC Law Office Hold Receptions for the Group of US Maryland Montgomery County Governor’s Business Trip in China

From 26th to 28th October, 2017, the governor of Maryland Montgomery County Ike Leggett and Montgomery County Economic Development Corporation (MCEDC) went to China for business promotion. During election of Chinese business contact representative, Marketing Director of DHH Washington DC Law Office Ms. Zhu Sha participated the bidding and successfully got the bid. Ms. Zhu was the coordinator in US area, she arranged meetings for Montgomery County Governor Ike Leggett, MCEDC President David Petr and dozens of Montgomery corporations, including receptions for Xi’an Government, Shanghai Pudong District Government, Trade Promotion organizations and counterpart enterprises.
In recent years, cooperation between cities and counties of US and China happens more and more often. The Montgomery County sits in north of Maryland, is an intensive area where many Chinese American live in east Coast. In 2013, Montgomery County and Xi’an became sister cities. This year, Montgomery County Governor led a team of culture, education, enterprises to visit Xi’an Government, Foreign Affairs Department, Universities and trade organizations.
In Xi’an, DHH Washington DC Law Office Executive Director Mr. Liu Xinze contacted leaders from Xi’an trade promotion organizations, includes President of China Council for the Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT) City of Xi’an Branch Ms. Long Xiaohua, Minister of CCPIT Xi’an Branch International Department Ms. Gao Shan, Director of Shanxi Free Trade Zone Xi’an Management Committee Policy Research Office Ms. Ma Xiaoqin, Deputy Director of Xi’an Investment and Cooperation Committee Foreign Investment Department Ms. Yu Jianhong, Xi’an Bureau of Commerce Foreign Trade Department Mr. Wang Chao, Minister of Xi’an International Chamber of Commerce General Department Wang Yuping and Director of Xi’an International Chamber of Commerce Member Department Ms. Wanghan. Two parties communicated about trade promtions, investments and setting US companies in Xi’an Free Trade Zone. Montgomery hoped to set a representative office in Xi’an, President Long responded to provide an office and help Montgomery County to promote trade between China and US.
In Shanghai, Deputy Director of DHH Washington DC Law Office Tang Yongshang assisted to arrange the meetings with Montgomery County Representative Group and President of Shanghai Pudong District Government, and B to B meetings with enterprises in Shanghai and surrounding economic development zones. Montgomery County has advantages in biomedicine, health insurance, government contract, information technology and real estate. It can response with enterprises in China first-tier cities, both parties have great potential for cooperation.
