On May 19th 2017, Geoffrey Sant, the partner of Dorsey & Whitney LLP, and Hong Shihong visited Beijing DHH (Shanghai) Law Firm. Wang Yuejian, the vice director of DHH (Shanghai) Law Firm, and Liu Yongfa, the vice director of DHH (Shanghai) Law Firm, welcomed the guests warmly and participated in the communication conference.
The two visiting lawyers introduced the enterprise forms and the tax system in the US, which are totally different from those in China. They mentioned the cultural differences between America and China, the importance and noteworthiness when investing in the US or during M&A negotiation through typical cases of reverse takeover and lawyer-client privilege as well as the economic environments and polices in both countries, and made a further discussion on how to structure and operate Sino-American transnational enterprises.
