DHH Washington Office Visited Venable Law Firm Partner Ms. Lindsay Meyer
Lindsay Meyer began by introducing basic information of Venable Law Firm. Founded in 1900, Venable is an American Lawyer 100 law firm with a long history. Venable was founded in Baltimore at first, its headquarter moved to Washington in the 80th. Venable has more than 600 attorneys in 9 offices across the US. Except for Washington, it has offices in New York, Los Angeles, San Francisco, Baltimore, Tysons, Towson, Rockville and Wilmington. The main business of Venable includes corporate and business law, complex litigation, intellectual property, and regulatory and government affairs. Venable does not have office abroad, international information all comes from “Country Office” which has experience of practicing law abroad. Now Venable is starting China Initiative, the core businesses are FCPA, CFIUS, trade remedy and real estate.
Lindsay heads the International Trade Practice and she is co-chair of FCPA and Anticorruption Practice. She has practiced law for nearly 30 years, having extensive experience in international trade and customs, FCPA and homeland security. For over a century, Venable built the firm on a simple and enduring premise: to see the world through the eyes of their clients. Venable immerse in their clients’ business to fully understand the context of their legal issues. Many attorneys are former Members of Congress, regulator and senior government staffers, have the experience to provide solutions when government creates regulatory roadblocks.
After DHH introduced its core value and practices, the two firms realized that they have many similarities, predominantly by putting clients’ interest first, and synergies between the two firms grow from shared strengths, such as Intellectual Property and International Trade. Lindsay heartily expressed willingness to cooperate with DHH and look forward to the visit of DHH members in late September.
