China-ASEAN Investment and Trade Law Compliance and Risk Control in the Context of Globalization Forum Successfully Held in Shenzhen
On 24th April, 2019, Shenzhen witnessed a grand feast—China-ASEAN Investment and Trade Law Compliance and Risk Control in the Context of Globalization Forum, which was hosted by Huanyu China-ASEAN Legal Cooperation Center and sponsored by Beijing DHH (Shenzhen) Law Firm, National Intellectual Property Training Center in Guangdong, Institute on IP Judicial Protection under the Supreme People’s Court. The Forum also created a platform for the business circles, legal circles and scholar circles of both China and ASEAN to gather together for mutual cooperation.
The Forum got great support from Shenzhen Chamber of Commerce for Import & Export, Shenzhen Qianhai Belt & Road Legal Service Federation, China Association of Corporate Counsel for Small and Medium Enterprises (CACC), Intellectual Property Academy of Shenzhen University, Shenzhen Branch of the Import-Export Bank of China, Shenzhen Cross-Border E-Commerce Association, 10000link.com (China Supply Chain Portal) and the Supply Chain Technology Finance Association in Shenzhen Futian District. More than 130 guests attended the Forum, including legal experts, lawyers and representatives from arbitration organizations and enterprises of China Hong Kong, Singapore, Malaysia, Vietnam, Thailand, Cambodia, Laos and other ASEAN countries. The Forum could not spare any empty seats and enjoyed a warm atmosphere.
The Forum was moderated by Lawyer Lianjie Li, Director of Cambodian Legal Department of Huanyu China-ASEAN Legal Cooperation Center, and Lawyer Shuli Ye, Partner of Beijing DHH (Shenzhen) Law Firm. Managing Partner Qi Jiang of DHH, Chairman Wen Shi of Huanyu China-ASEAN Legal Cooperation Center, Chairman Chun Du of Shenzhen Qianhai Belt & Road Legal Service Federation, Dean Yaying Huang of the Intellectual Property Academy of Shenzhen University, and NPC Deputy and Director Lieyu Zhu of Beijing DHH (Guangzhou) Law Firm respectively delivered speeches.
The first focuse of the Forum was on the international investment compliance, and experts and lawyers from Vietnam, Cambodia, Malaysia, Thailand and Laos successively shared their exploration into the legal risk of investment & compliance, involving ASEAN Investment Risk & Compliance, Cross-border Investment: Compliance Management and Policy, Risks & Opportunities for Foreign Investment in India, Vietnamese Investment, Malaysian Investment, Lao Investment and other issues.
Then during the session on the Risk Aversion of International Investment and International Trade, speakers mainly shared their views on topics “Compliance Management of Enterprises' Overseas Operations & Exports under the Background of Globalization”, “Opportunities and Risks of Foreign Investment in Mineral Resources in Laos” and “Risk Aversion and Countermeasures in China-ASEAN Trade and Investment”. While during the session of Round-table Meeting, the speakers conducted adequate discussions on the relevant legal issues on the field of international construction project contracting.
Finally, the Forum officially ended with warm exchanges in the atmosphere of red wine and cold meals.
