The Fourth Global Law Firm Cooperation Forum & “One Belt, One Road”: CIS and CEE Countries Law Firm Cooperation Development Seminar was Successfully Held in Beijing

The Belt and Road Initiative complies with the trend of world multi-polarization, economic globalization, cultural diversity and society informatization. In order to respond to the national appeal, Beijing DHH Law Firm is committed to escort Chinese enterprises in their cross-border investment and other businesses performances to “go out” through firmly seizing the international development opportunity to carry out its global layout of cooperative development strategy. On the afternoon of April 23rd, 2019, “The Fourth Global Law Firm Cooperation Forum & ‘One Belt, One Road’: CIS and CEE Countries Law Firm Cooperation Development Seminar” was successfully held on the 12th floor of Beijing Yintai Center.
 


The Seminar themed on“Internationalization of Law Firms”, attracting nearly 40 representatives of law firms, honored guests of foreign institutions in China, legal scholars and lawyers from Russia, Poland, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Pakistan, Ukraine, Tajikistan, Denmark, Cambodia, Germany, Finland, Mexico, New Zealand and other countries were invited to conduct in-depth discussions and extensive exchanges on the theme.

Mr. Li Ren, Senior Partner of DHH, was the moderator of the Seminar.

 


Mr. Shaohu Luan, Chairman of the Board of Partners of DHH, delivered an opening speech, extending a warm welcome to all the guests who came from afar, and then introduced DHH's “Many Lives, Many Masters”, indicating that DHH is willing to give priority to cooperate with the law firms along the Belt & Road for common development and a bright future in the framework of the Swiss Union through the "1 + 1 + N" model!
 


Ms. Hong Zhang, Senior Partner & Director of Beijing Headquarter of Dentons Law Offices, shared the successful experience of Dentons Law Offices from three aspects of global network advantage, management and governance structure, and cross-border business.
 


Subsequently, Kejiang Liu, Director of Beijing DHH Law Firm & Director of International Practice Centre, conducted a keynote speech on “DHH’s Past Achievements, Current Status & Future Development Plan in Globalization Focusing on Swiss Verein Structure under the Belt and Road Initiative”, focusing on the way for DHH to draw lessons from the experience of Swiss Union structure to plan the future internationalization development under the background of the Belt and Road.
 


 

 


Ms. Yonglan Li made a detailed Introduction of Law Firm Globalization Models, focusing on Swiss Verein Structure from the background, definition, construction mode, advantages and potential crisis, and then she suggested to explore the international development mode of law firm with its own characteristics by taking all advantages and potential crises into consideration.
 


After the tea break, representatives of all participated law firms, including Ms. Christina CUI, Founder of LAW-control (Ukraine), Ms. Gulnur Nurkeyeva, Head of China Desk of GRATA Law Firm (Kazakhstan), Mr. Amar Bajramović, Attorney of Miljković & Partners Law Offices (Bosnia and Herzegovina), Mr. Marcin Krakowiak, Partner of Domański Zakrzewski Palinka sp. k. (Poland), respectively shared and introduced the international development of their own firms, and then expressed their expectation of strengthening cooperation and achieving win-win development with Beijing DHH Law Firm.

Mr. Marcin Krakowiak, Partner of DZP (Poland), was delivering a speech.


Ms. Liying Zhang, Dean of International Education College of CUPL, pointed out the objective problems existing in the cooperation and development of the legal services along the Belt and Road and also put forward countermeasures. Then Mr. Chunhui Wang, Professor of NJUPT, also made constructive comments on cross-border legal cooperation along the Belt and Road.

Finally, Director Kejiang Liu made a concluding speech and presented a gift to the guests, indicating that DHH would like to adhere to win-win cooperation and benefit sharing with the law firms along the Belt and Road to provide one-stop legal services for global clients, thus serving the Belt and Road Initiative and promoting the integration of world economy.
 


After the Seminar, representatives from various countries took a group photo and then went for a dinner to to renew their friendship and to discuss further cooperation and development.
