Beijing DHH Law Firm was Invited to the China-Singapore International Commercial Dispute Resolution Conference
On January 24th, 2019, the China-Singapore International Commercial Dispute Resolution Conference was successfully held in Kerry Hotel Beijing, and this conference was hosted by China Council for the Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT) and Singapore Ministry of Law, and co-organized by Legal Affairs Department and Resolution Center of CCPIT and Singapore Maxwell International Center for Dispute Resolution. More than 250 senior representatives from government departments, legal circles, business circles and enterprises of China and Singapore attended the meeting. Ms. Hongna Liu, Director of International Department of DHH, Ms. Shuli Ye, Partner of Beijing DHH Law Firm and Ms. Jing Zhao, Senior Co-Partner of Beijing DHH Law Firm were invited to attend the forum.
Under the host of Mr. Pengqi Lu (Vice Chairman of CCPIT), speeches were delivered by Ms. Yan Gao (Chairman of CCPIT), Mr. Edwin Tong (Singapore Senior Minister of State for Law and Health), Mr. Dongchuan Luo (Vice-President of Supreme People’s Court of the PRC), who expressed their agreements on the influence of the Conference in promoting cooperation and development of international commercial law between China and Singapore, so as to advance "the Belt and Road" initiative.
This Forum was divided into two sessions: keynote report and symposium. First of all, following the moderator Mr. Wong Taur-Jiun (President of Singapore Corporate Counsel Association) was Mr. Locknie Hsu (Professor of Law of Singapore Management University) and Prof. Jin Huang (Vice President of China Law Society, President of Chinese Society of International Law and President of China University of Political Science and Law), who shared keynote reports on "Future Developments in International Commercial Dispute Resolution" respectively. Afterwards, honored guests had a heated discussion on “Judicial Support for and Developments in International Commercial Litigation”, “Development and Prospects in International Commercial Arbitration”, and “Future Developments in International Commercial Mediation”. The Conference seeks to support the development of the Belt & Road Initiative and advance China-Singapore cooperation in international commercial legal services. The Conference will explore new opportunities for legal commercial legal services under the Belt and Road Initiative and discuss how China and Singapore can work together to help business resolve commercial disputes more effectively, conveniently and fairly through the use of mediation, arbitration or litigation, to advance cross-border commerce, investment and economic cooperation.
