Sino-Russian Lawyers Service Group Held Summing-up Meeting on the 2018 FIFA World Cup Support Work

On July 16th, 2018, the Legal Branch of the Chinese General Chamber of Commerce, Russia held a breakfast celebration meeting in Moscow to congratulate and commemorate the Sino-Russian Lawyers Service Group for their legal services and support to the Chinese spectators during the 2018 FIFA World Cup in Russia.
The meeting was chaired by Dr. Kejiang Liu, President of the Legal Branch of the Chinese General Chamber of Commerce, Russia, and Executive President Dr. Yi Yuan gave a first-period working report on the establishment and operation of the Sino-Russian Lawyers Service Group in the past one and half months. Entrusted by the Consular Office of Embassy of People’s Republic of China in Russian Federation and the Chinese General Chamber of Commerce, Russia, Beijing DHH Law Firm established and organized the Sino-Russian Lawyers Service Group to provide support and safety to the Chinese spectators during the 2018 FIFA World Cup in Russia. Over 70 Chinese and Russian lawyers from 16 Russian law firms and Chinese law firms located in the 2018 World Cup host cities have worked on more than 300 legal matters involving Chinese spectators, consulted on more than 100 legal and litigious matters over the phone or in person , and handled 9 specific cases since 31 May when the Sino-Russian Lawyers Service Group was launched. With the joint efforts of Chinese and Russian lawyers, the vast majority of consultations have achieved satisfactory results. At present there is only one fraud case remaining, which is coordinated and assigned by Embassy of the People’s Republic of China in Russian Federation, and involves a Russian company forging World Cup tickets and causing tens of millions of losses in RMB to hundreds of Chinese fans. The Sino-Russian Lawyers Service Group received and answered queries from hundreds of Chinese tourism agencies and spectators, collected dozens of evidence documents and materials and handed them over to Russian police who highly appraise the lawyers’ effort and work.
Dr. Qi Jiang, President of Beijing DHH Law Firm, and Mr. Valery, Managing Partner of Avelan Law Firm in Moscow, delivered closing speeches, emphasising that the two sides would continue to work together to complete the China-related World Cup support work.
During the meeting, four Russian law firms and two Chinese law firms, Beijing DHH Law Firm and Shandong Deheng Law Firm, were commended for their services to Chinese spectators before and after the World Cup. Mr. Shaohu Luan, Vice President of the Chinese General Chamber of Commerce, Russia, and Mr. Haiyi Yang, Director of Greenwood International Center, Moscow, presented them with certificates of honor and World Cup souvenirs.
