Luan Shaohu Invited to Participate in Hong Kong Judiciary 2013 Annual Legal Open Ceremony
On January 14th, the President of Qingdao Lawyers Association Luan Shaohu was invited by the Secretary of the Hong Kong Department of Justice, Rimsky Yuen, to attend the Judiciary's 2013 Annual Legal Open Ceremony at Hong Kong City Hall. This ceremony, held once every year at the beginning of the year, is an event for Hong Kong's judiciary and lawyers.
When the ceremony began, the Chief Justice of Hong Kong's Final Court of Appeal, Geoffrey Ma, reviewed the police force with accompanied by the Secretary of the Department of Justice Rimsky Yuen, judges, barristers, and solicitors. Afterwards, Rimsky Yuen, Hong Kong Bar Association President Linmeng Da, and Hong Kong Lawyers Association President Yeli De, gave speeches respectively regarding the past year's work of Hong Kong's Judiciary and their vision for the next year. Approximately 500 judges, lawyers, and legal professors gathered for the event. At the same time, approximately 100 persons received an invitation to this event, including Australian Justices, other well-known legal professionals abroad, domestic Lawyer Association Presidents and well-known scholars.
During his stay in Hong Kong, Luan Shao Hu specially visited the office in Hong Kong on behalf of Huangbi Yue in relation to some administrative matters, and research for 2013 related work.
