From December 9 to 10, 2019, the Global Lawyers Forum, hosted by All China Lawyers Association, was held in Guangzhou. More than 800 government officials, judicial and legal guests and representatives from 57 countries and regions attended the conference. This is the first world lawyer event held in China. With the theme of "Scientific&Technological Progress and Legal Services", the conference focused on the topics such as“the Belt and Road Initiative” and legal services, science&technology and legal services, etc.

In the opening speech, Chinese Minister of Justice Zhenghua Fu pointed out that the rule of law is the largest convention of human society and a global ideal, and lawyers are an important force to promote and realize this ideal. He suggested that lawyers and legal professionals from all countries should promote cooperation through exchanges, promote development through cooperation, and promote governance through development, facilitating the formation of a new pattern of global governance of discussion, collaboration and sharing.

Kejiang Liu, Director of Beijing DHH Law Firm, and Shan Luan, Executive Vice President and Director of the Business Dispatch Center of DHH, were invited to attend the conference.

Director Kejiang Liu gave a speech on the "Belt and Road". Mr. Liu said that the Global Lawyers Forum is a milestone in the development of China's foreign-related legal services industry. China's foreign-related lawyers have been strongly supported by government agencies at all levels to go to the world legal services stage with a new attitude, who will provide strong legal protection for investment and economic and trade activities of Chinese enterprises going global under the "Belt and Road" initiative. Referring to the mode of cooperation between Chinese and foreign lawyers, Mr. Liu said that in the past, cross-border legal services were dominated by large foreign lawyers and Chinese lawyers who provided subcontracted services were a supporting role in foreign-related legal services. However, with the development of China's economy and the increasing number of Chinese enterprises "going global" , the demand of Chinese clients for Chinese lawyers' legal services and the rapid improvement of China's foreign-related lawyers' service capabilities have made Chinese lawyers gradually play a key role in cross-border legal services. They have cooperated with foreign lawyers in various ways to jointly provide timely and thoughtful legal services for Chinese enterprises to go global.

During the Global Lawyers Forum, partners and lawyers from DHH offices in Beijing, Qingdao, Shanghai, Jinan, Guangzhou and Shenzhen held friendly exchanges with foreign guests, following the principle of discussion, collaboration and sharing to actively carry out exchanges and cooperation between Chinese and foreign lawyers.

On December 8, 2019, prior to the opening of the Global Lawyers Forum, the Belt and Road International Lawyers Association (BRILA) was established by All China Lawyers Association, which provides a stage for the exchange and cooperation between Chinese and foreign lawyers. Together with the International Bar Association (IBA), the International Association of Lawyers (UIA) and the Inter-Pacific Bar Association (IPBA), BRILA will provide more effective support in promoting healthy cooperation and development between countries along the Belt and Road.
