Director Liang Mei of DHH Washington DC Office Attended the Utah-China Trade and Investment Forum
The event began with a congratulatory message from Mr. Tiankai Cui, Ambassador of Embassy of the People’s Republic of China to the United States. Mr. Cui pointed out that the success of Utah-China Trade and Investment Forum demonstrated the ardent expectations of local governments, enterprises and people of both China and the U.S. for bilateral relation. The Forum provided a rare opportunity for officials and entrepreneurs from Utah and China to get together for potential cooperation with mutual benefit and win-win results.
During the Forum, Mr. Xueyuan Xu, Minister of Embassy of the People’s Republic of China to the United States, delivered a speech on the development of China-US local cooperation and the situation of the 11th round of China-US high-level economic and trade consultations.
Representatives from the Utah legislature and state government made it clear that although the China-US trade and economic cooperation was in a special period, Utah would continue to actively develop cooperation with China. Senate President Stuart Adams of Utah mentioned that China was a key factor for Utah’s development, "Utah values every connection with the outside world, and China is the most important one."
Mr. Zhenge Zhao, General Delegate of CCPIT in the United States, said in his speech that the Forum took it as its starting-point to expand the cooperation between China and Utah through the presentation of business environments in both China and Utah, thus further exploring the potentials of cooperation in trade & investment, energy development, cultural tourism, sports, technology and agriculture, etc., and promoting the future pragmatic exchanges, cooperation and development of the business community between the two sides.
During the Forum, representatives of DHH Washington D.C. Office had in-depth exchanges and established friendly relations with the officials and entrepreneurs from Utah and China to better assist the international cooperation and mutual improvement between Chinese and American enterprises in the future.
