Moscow Office and St. Petersburg Office of Beijing DHH Law Firm Successfully Held the 2018 Semi-Annual Meeting

The 2018 Semi-Annual Meeting of Moscow Office and St. Petersburg Office of Beijing DHH Law Firm was successfully held in Moscow (the main venue) on July 12th while 2018 FIFA World Cup was in full swing. More than 40 Sino-Russian lawyers of Russian business teams from Moscow, St. Petersburg and Beijing took part in the Meeting over telephone.
 


Chaired by Luping Li, Executive Director of Moscow Office of Beijing DHH Law Firm, the Meeting consisted of three parts: work summary, exchanges & report and future outlook.

The Meeting began with a comprehensive report on business, finance and administration given by Mr. Yuan Yao, Director of Moscow office of Beijing DHH Law Firm. He conducted a detailed report on business charge data and customer needs, acceptance risk prevention and control in Russian legal market, exploration into the mechanism for improving professional business abilities, self-organization, cooperation and case-referral mechanism, as well as the effectiveness of business, finance, integrated administration and other relevant issues.

Based on the current role of St. Petersburg Office of Beijing DHH Law Firm -- a project center as well as a legal service center, its Managing Director Wanqi Cheng gave a report focusing on developing large clients and project acceptance.

Subsequently, Dr. Yi Yuan, Chief Partner of the Russian Business Team, summarized the customer development situation in the first half of 2018. Her report focused on the development and maintenance of the law firm's major clients, fully reflecting the increasing diversified needs for legal service of Chinese enterprises in Russia and the gathering of large customers. At the same time, he also conveyed the praise, admiration and satisfaction of major customers to local offices about the maintenance work in the past six months, and greatly encouraged Sino-Russia lawyers in Beijing DHH Law Firm.

 


As President of the China General Chamber of Commerce-Russia (Legal Branch), Director of Beijing DHH Law Firm, Mr. Kejiang Liu has reviewed and summarized the membership development, the improvement of organizational structure, and the hosted activities, including but not limited to the compulsory compliance training to Chinese-funded enterprises, voluntary lawyers advisory group for 2018 FIFA World Cup, etc. He also reported the beneficial effects of various activities on the business development in Russia.

Afterwards, the Russian Discipline Director of Beijing DHH Law Firm conducted a detailed and powerful report on the discipline inspection work of the two offices, and made corresponding reminders on the situation of non-compliance, which provide strong protection for the strict enforcement of Chinese-funded law firm’s management regulation in combination with local characteristics.

During the exchanges & report, Chinese and Russian young lawyers and local Russian lawyers exchanged their personal work and expectations. Russian lawyers tried to report in Chinese with others’ encouragement and received a warm welcome from the participant lawyers of three different districts.

   
 
There were two parts for the session of Future Outlook. Ms. Wen Zhang, Managing Director of DHH, first summarized and gave detailed effective suggestions on the management of the Russian offices, and then pointed out the specific work direction for Russian lawyers and Sino-Russian staff.

In the end, Mr. Qi Jiang,Managing Partner of DHH conducted a comprehensive review and outlook on the Russian business. Jiang first commended the achievements made in the past six months and affirmed the achievements of the Russian office in terms of brand promotion, team building, major customer development, and fees. Secondly, Jiang sorted out the current problems and proposed corresponding solutions. Finally, Jiang set higher goals for the two Russian offices— Striving to be the best law firm in serving Chinese enterprises in Russia!

 


After the meeting, all the leaders and lawyers attended the dinner hosted by the Moscow Office, and had a cordial conversation. This dinner not only eased the tense feeling during the daily work, but also strengthened the relationship and cohesion among teams. May the Moscow and St. Petersburg offices, striving for unity and friendship, seek change and progress in the following half of 2018!
