On June 6th, 2018, Mr. Tony Macvean, Managing Partner of Australia Hall & Wilcox Law Firm, and Mr. Eugene Chen, Head of the Chinese Division of Hall & Wilcox, visited Beijing DHH Law Firm, and were warmly welcomed by Dr. Ren Li (Senior Partner of DHH as well as Co-executive Director of Beijing DHH Law Firm), Ms. Ye Shuli (Head of International Department of DHH) and other lawyers from DHH International Practice Center. The two sides introduced the basis situations, practice areas and advantages of their law firm to each other.
Later, the two sides made an in-depth exploration into some issues of cross-border legal services involving the practice areas and the status quo and outlook of industry development, especially some essential issues related to listing on ASX (Australia Stock Exchange), the hot fields of Chinese enterprises’ investment in Australia, and the influence of setting up overseas branches on business development. And due to the discussion, both sides had great confidence in their future cooperation. Besides, the two sides not only exchanged opinions on the feasibility and cooperation ways of “Lawyer Exchange Project”, but also planned to promote its implementation in the future. Through the exchange, lawyers could get familiar with and further take in-depth part in the legal affairs of each side, so as to improve their service quality and ability in providing cross-border legal services.
