Director Liu Kejiang Invited to Attend the Annual Meeting of IBA 2017

Recently, the Director of Beijing DHH Law Firm Liu Kejiang was appointed by All China Lawyers Association (ACLA) to attend the annual meeting of IBA 2017 in Sydney. The annual meeting also celebrated IBA’s 70th founding anniversary, which attracted more than 4500 lawyers from over 120 countries all around the world. In addition to 5 representatives from ACLA, nearly one hundred Chinese lawyers, more than ever before, also participated in the meeting.
There were a lot of big guns participating in the annual meeting, as the chairman of IBA Mr. Martin Solc introduced, including the first female chief justice of Australia Susan Kiefel AC, the first female justice of the Supreme Court of Australia Mary Gaudron QC, the former trade representative of the U.S. and the U.S. ambassador to Australia Michael Froman, the minister of justice of Ukraine Pavlo Petrenko, the attorney general of New south wales of Australia Mark Speakman, SC MP, etc.
Some settled topics together with some hot issues in relation to international and regional trends will be discussed during the meeting from the aspects of legal practice and industrial management every year. The topics for the annual meeting of IBA 2017 was so comprehensive that more than 200 segments were scheduled in the five-day-meeting. Revolving around two themes- rule of law and human rights, the diversity and practicality of the discussed topics embodied the professional spirits of the present international lawyers.
During the meeting, Mr. Liu Kejiang communicated with lawyers from all around the world. He also visited some local law firms in Sydney and participated in the round-table conference of ACLA and Australia Bar Association.
