Luan Shaohu and Mao Hongtao Attend Annual Meeting of Criminal Committee of All China Lawyers Association (ACLA)
On November 14th and 15th a Symposium on “New Problems after Implementation of the New Criminal Procedural Code” and the 2013 Annual Meeting of the Criminal Committee of ACLA was held in Beijing. The meeting, presided over by Director Tian Wenchang of the Criminal Committee of ACLA, analyzed and reviewed new problems arising from the current criminal defense sector, and discussed and revised “the Guideline for Handling Criminal Cases by Lawyers”.Chairman Luan Shaohu of the Partners’ Meeting of DHH and lawyer Mao Hongtao, who is a senior partner of DHH and the deputy director of Beijing DHH Law Firm, attended the meeting. They spoke on the new problems arising from the implementation of the new Criminal Procedural Code. Mr. Luan called for defense of the revised articles of the Code and respect for the original intention of the revision which lay in the assurance of human rights.
