Professional Experience

　　Lawyer Li has long specialized in foreign-related legal services, with extensive experience in cross-border investment, financing and M&A, international commercial dispute resolution, and compliance for state-owned enterprises. In dispute resolution, Lawyer Li has represented clients before the Supreme People's Court, various provincial high courts and intermediate courts, as well as in arbitration proceedings at the ICC, SIAC, and CIETAC, achieving outcomes that have satisfied clients. In non-contentious matters, Lawyer Li has served as long-term outside counsel for over a dozen companies, including central state-owned enterprises, other SOEs, and foreign-invested enterprises, and has assisted clients in completing hundreds of non-contentious projects. These include, but are not limited to, acquisitions and mergers, asset transfers, and domestic and overseas bond issuances and financing. Particularly in the field of cross-border investment, financing and M&A, Lawyer Li is skilled at selecting the most suitable international law firms as collaborative partners and acting as the "Overall Project Lead" to manage and coordinate with overseas counsel, ensuring comprehensive risk control throughout the entire process for Chinese clients.

　　• Represented a Cypriot company in a share transfer dispute. After proceedings through first instance, second instance, remand for retrial (first and second instance), successfully obtained a retrial by the Supreme People's Court, which overturned the original judgments and fully upheld the client's claims.

　　• Represented a listed company in an international sale of goods contract dispute before the Qingdao Intermediate Court (Successful outcome; the case was selected as a 2022 Typical Case of "Equal Protection of the Legitimate Rights and Interests of Chinese and Foreign Parties" by Shandong Provincial Courts and included in the Supreme People's Court's Case Database).

　　• Represented a Shandong-based listed company in a product quality dispute with a Canadian company before the Qingdao Intermediate Court (The listed company prevailed, stabilizing its stock price and overseas market share).

　　• Represented a US company in an international sale of goods contract dispute against a Rizhao-based company in an arbitration administered by the Qingdao Arbitration Commission (This was the first English-language arbitration case for the commission and was selected as one of its Top Ten Cases of 2021).

　　• Represented a domestic listed company in a CIETAC arbitration concerning an agency contract dispute with a Canadian company, successfully reducing the client's (as Respondent) claimed liability by approximately RMB 94 million.

　　• Represented a domestic listed company in a CIETAC arbitration concerning an agency contract dispute with a US company, successfully reducing the client's (as Respondent) claimed liability by RMB 58 million.

　　• Represented a Shandong-based port company in a CIETAC arbitration concerning a sale of goods dispute with a Mexican company, successfully assisting the client in recovering the payment through a settlement.

　　• Represented a Russian company in applying to the Qingdao Intermediate Court for the recognition and enforcement of an arbitral award issued by the International Commercial Arbitration Court at the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Russian Federation (MKAC). Recognition and enforcement were granted (The case was selected as a typical case involving the ascertainment of foreign law by the Qingdao International Commercial Court).

　　• Represented an Australian company in applying to the Linyi Intermediate Court for the recognition and enforcement of an arbitral award issued by the Australian Centre for International Commercial Arbitration (ACICA). Recognition and enforcement were granted.

　　• Represented an Ethiopian client in an ICC arbitration concerning a dispute over compensation for damages related to product quality. The case was concluded via mediation, resulting in compensation for the client.

　　• Represented a central state-owned enterprise (power engineering construction company) in an ICC arbitration in Singapore regarding an overseas project dispute. The case was concluded via mediation, reducing the client's (as Respondent) claimed liability by over RMB 60 million.

　　• Represented a central state-owned enterprise (power engineering construction company) in a SIAC arbitration concerning a major overseas project dispute, with a dispute value of RMB 1.12 billion (Ongoing).
