On the morning of January 14th, 2022, the 3rd Academic Annual Conference of Beijing DHH Law Firm was successfully held. Professor JIAO Hongchang, Dean of the Law School of China University of Political Science and Law; Professor ZHANG Xinbao from Renmin University of China Law School; Professor SHEN Weixing, Dean of Tsinghua University Law School; Professor ZHANG Shouwen of Peking University Law School; Professor HUANG Yong of the Law School of the University of International Business and Economics; Researcher LIU Jingdong of the Institute of International Law of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences; Professor CHE Hao, Vice Dean of Peking University Law School; Professor CAI Chang of the School of Finance and Taxation of the Central University of Finance and Economics; Dr. YUAN Fang, Editor-in-Chief of China Legal Review; LI Xuxiu, President and Secretary of the Party Committee of Shandong Deheng Law Firm; as well as Dr. LIU Kejiang, President of DHH, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee and Director of the firm; Dr. JIANG Bo, Member of the Party Committee and Executive Director; Lawyer ZHAO Ying, Managing Director; Lawyer ZHU Ning, Management Director; and nearly 100 partners and lawyers of DHH attended the annual conference.
The annual conference commenced at 9 a.m., hosted by ZHU Ning, Management Director of DHH. Dr. LIU Kejiang delivered the opening address on behalf of the organizer. In his speech, President LIU first extended heartfelt gratitude and a warm welcome to all experts and professors present. He noted that for years, numerous lawyers have accumulated profound theoretical works and rich academic resources while deepening their practical expertise. He hoped the conference would further inspire all DHH partners and lawyers to strive forward, promote the integration of legal theory and practice, and collectively contribute to China's rule of law construction.
Professor JIAO Hongchang delivered the opening speech on behalf of the Law School of China University of Political Science and Law, the academic supporter of the conference. He fully affirmed DHH's development path of integrating theory with practice, emphasizing the inseparability of legal practice and academic research. Professor JIAO encouraged all DHH colleagues to strengthen cooperation with law schools and cultivate more outstanding legal talents.
Under the moderation of Dr. JIANG Bo, Executive Director of DHH, the annual conference entered the academic report and expert commentary session. Lawyers WANG Yuejian, REN Hui, GAO Lijiao, XIN Xiaotian, YANG Zhuokong, QIN Hui, ZHU Bing, and ZHOU Ailin from DHH's offices across the country took the stage in sequence to share their reflections on relevant theoretical issues in legal practice.Professors ZHANG Xinbao, CHE Hao, ZHANG Shouwen, CAI Chang, HUANG Yong and Researcher LIU Jingdong, delivered incisive comments on the lawyers' reports. They integrated their own reflections on related issues in legal research and cutting-edge academic theories based on the eight report themes.
Next came the award ceremony and new book launch session, hosted by Lawyer ZHAO Ying.
In his speech, Professor SHEN Weixing stated that this annual conference was full of highlights, with both excellent content and form, and equal emphasis on theory and practice. DHH's continuation of the tradition of holding lawyer practice academic annual conferences has built a bridge between the theoretical and practical circles, which is of great significance. While fully affirming the academic research level of DHH lawyers, Professor SHEN hoped that DHH lawyers would continue to study diligently and practice earnestly to make greater contributions to the realization of good law and good governance.
