On the morning of January 6th, 2023, the Fourth DHH Acadamic Summit and DHH Research Institute Unveiling Ceremony, hosted by Beijing DHH Law Firm and co-organized by Shandong Deheng Law Firm, was successfully held in Beijing.


Attendees of the event included: Professor JIAO Hongchang, Dean of the Law School of China University of Political Science and Law; Professor DU Huanfang, Party Secretary and Vice Dean of Renmin University of China Law School; Professor ZHU Ciyun from Tsinghua University Law School; Professor HUANG Yong, Executive Vice Dean of the Institute of Foreign-related Rule of Law at the University of International Business and Economics; Professor LI Shouping, Dean of Beijing Institute of Technology School of Law; Researcher LIU Jingdong, Director of the Department of International Economic Law at the Institute of International Law of Chinese Academy of Social Sciences; Professor YIN Jianfeng, Vice Dean of Beijing Normal University Law School; Dr. LI Xiuna, Vice Dean of the Law School at the University of International Relations; Dr. LI Ming from the Institute of Applied Jurisprudence of the Supreme People's Court; general counsel representatives from major central state-owned enterprises including China Reform Holdings; and Mr. Li Ming, Deputy Director of the Jianwai Subdistrict Office in Chaoyang District. Also present at the event were Lawyer HU Ming, Chairwoman of the Partners' Meeting of Beijing DHH Law Firm; Dr. LIU Kejiang, Party Secretary and President of DHH; Lawyer ZHANG Bing, Chairman of the Supervisory Board; Lawyer JI Cheng, DHH's Executive President; Lawyer WEN Guihe, Director of the Beijing DHH (Shenzhen) Law Firm; Dr. JIANG Bo, Deputy Party Secretary and Executive Director; Lawyer ZHAO Ying, Managing Director; along with senior partners and representatives from various DHH branch offices across the country. In addition, DHH&DH branches nationwide participated in the event simultaneously via livestream through video sub-sessions.


At 9:30 a.m., the inauguration ceremony of the DHH Research Institute officially commenced, presided over by Dr. LIU Kejiang. On behalf of the organizers, Dr. LIU annouced the official founding document of the Institute and introduced its background, functional positioning, and organizational structure.


In her address, Lawyer HU Ming, Chairwoman of the Partners' Meeting of DHH and Director of the DHH Research Institute, extended her heartfelt thanks and warm welcome to the attending experts, scholars, and client representatives. She emphasized that DHH will continue to uphold its development philosophy of  "Establishing through professionalism, Strengthening through academic excellence" as well as the service philosophy of "Professionalism, Concentration, Specialization, and Dedication" and contribute DHH's wisdom and strength to the development of the rule of law in China. In the presence of all attendees, the DHH Research Institute was officially unveiled. Director HU then presented appointment letters to the professors and experts appointed as academic advisors to the Institute.

Professor JIAO Hongchang delivered a congratulatory speech on the establishment of the DHH Research Institute. He spoke highly of DHH's longstanding commitment to bridging the gap between legal academia and legal practice.

Under the moderation of Dr. Jiang Bo, Executive Director of DHH and the DHH Research Institute, the Fourth DHH Academic Summit officially opened. Lawyer ZHAO Ying, Senior Partner of DHH (Beijing ); Lawyer ZHANG Ning, Senior Partner of DHH (Shanghai); Lawyer WANG Haijun, Senior Partner of DHH (Beijing); Lawyer YANG Jingguo, Senior Partner of DHH (Shanghai); and Lawyer Zhou Jincai, Senior Partner of DHH (Beijing) each present the background and core ideas of their papers. They shared theoretical reflections and practical insights gained from their research topics and legal practice. Six guest professors offered insightful commentary on the presentations, giving full recognition and praise to the DHH lawyers for their rigorous academic mindset and commitment to both legal theory and practice.


The event concluded successfully amid warm applause. In the closing speech, Professor DU Huanfang noted that this year’s summit focused on practical issues and timely topics, fully showcasing the theoretical depth and professional excellence of DHH lawyers.
