The Release Ceremony for "You Have the Right to Remain Silent and Consult an Attorney—100 Legal Tips for Preventing and Dealing with Emergencies in the US" was held at DHH Shanghai Office
The book You Have the Right to Remain Silent and Consult an Attorney—100 Legal Tips for Preventing and Dealing with Emergencies in the US was compiled by Beijing DHH Law Firm and published in Hong Kong. And its release ceremony was held yesterday at the Beijing Hall of Beijing DHH(Shanghai)Law Firm, located in the 62nd Floor of Shanghai Tower.
The ceremony was presided over by Ms. Yuexi Yao, Senior Partner of DHH & Executive Director of Beijing DHH (Shanghai) Law Firm.
Mr. Huadong Tang, Senior Partner of DHH & Director of Beijing DHH (Shanghai) Law Firm, delivered a speech during the release ceremony.
Ms. Yonglan Li, Senior Partner & Compliance Director of DHH, on behalf of US Practice Team who are editors of the book, introduced the book from the perspectives of its compilation background, compiling process, contents and significance and so on.
In order to meet the demands of clients and fulfill the social responsibility of Chinese lawyers, the book was cooperatively compiled and finished by more than ten lawyers across regions from the US Practice Team of Beijing DHH Law Firm within two weeks, carrying a crystallization of team spirit and collective wisdom.The compilation work of the book was led by Director Liang Mei of DHH Washington DC Office and Compliance Director Yonglan Li of DHH as well as Ms. Shan Luan, who is Legal Officer (accredited by U.S Department of Justice) of the US Embassy in China. With elaborate selection and arrangement, the stylistic rules and layout of book is divided into nine parts, covering the major aspects of working, living, business and travelling in the United States, including 100 practical issues and the corresponding solutions on admission of entry, transportation, housing, accomodation, working & business, human rights & judicial procedures, consular protection, admission of exit and lawyer's engagement, while the appendix contains several Amendments to the United States Constitution, and the famous Miranda Warnings printed on the inside front cover and inside back cover in both Chinese and English. It is really worth carrying and learning from the book for people going to the U.S. or already in the U.S. in response to emergencies. To celebrate the fifth anniversary of its establishment, DHH Washington D.C. Office issued the book as a gift. On the occasion of the publication of the book, every lawyer of DHH wish all clients and staffs a smooth career, a happy life and a safe travel in the United States.
Mr. Shaohu Luan, Chairman of Board of Partners of DHH, arrived at the site and expressed his congratulations, and then jointly unveiled the release ceremony with Ms. Yonglan Li, Mr. Huadong Tang, Ms Yuexi Yao, Mr. Keqing Zhao and other partners of DHH Shanghai Office.
At the end of the ceremony, Chairman Luan made a speech and pointed out that a series of books on “100 Legal Tips for Preventing and Dealing with Emergencies” will be released later by DHH Overseas Offices in Russia, Japan, Korea and so on. At the same time, Shanghai Office as the DHH’s foreign-related practice center will compile and issue the Tell You the True China—100 Legal Tips for Foreigners Preventing and Dealing with Emergencies in China. Deheng Law Group will make full use of its advantages in internationalization to serve clients and society and to fulfill its social responsibilities through the publication of the series of books.
