On October 24, 2025, the 5th "Singapore-China International Commercial Dispute Resolution Conference" was successfully held. The conference was jointly organized by Singapore's Ministry of Law, the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade, and the International Commercial Dispute Prevention and Settlement Organization. Liu Rundong, an Equity Partner at Beijing DHH Law Firm, was invited to attend and gave an exclusive interview to Lianhe Zaobao.

Dr. Liu Rundong stated that due to the high degree of professionalism in law, general AI might not be able to meet the demands, and the industry has already started to develop AI dedicated specifically to the legal field. He said, "As AI continues to be trained, specialized AI developed based on highly valuable industry databases will become an essential tool and skill for every practitioner, such as in industries like arbitration."

Dr. Liu is a legal expert in the fields of cross-border investment and trade and also served as the Chief Representative in China for the Singapore International Arbitration Centre (SIAC). He observed that Singapore's dispute resolution institutions boast world-leading and continuously improving digital hardware and software facilities. For instance, they made early and ongoing investments in technologies such as blockchain evidence preservation and document storage for online dispute resolution years in advance. Additionally, the establishment of Microsoft Research Asia's AI research center in Singapore in 2025 is unparalleled in Asia. As the AI era approaches, the technical capabilities that Singapore has proactively and consistently built up will prove highly useful, attracting more people to choose Singapore as their preferred arbitration venue.
