A Delegation from Hitotsubashi University Visits DHH (Shanghai) for Exchange

On the afternoon of July 17, a delegation comprising Takeshita Keisuke , Dean of the School of Law at Hitotsubashi University in Japan, Professor Wang Yunhai, Professor Yu Gaizhi, Vice President of the Chinese Criminal Law Society and a professor at Shanghai Jiao Tong University, Lecturer Zhao Xinxin from Shanghai University of Political Science and Law, Pan Lingji, Chief Representative for Southeast Asia of the Asia-Pacific International Arbitration Court and Director of the Tokyo Office, visited Beijing DHH(Shanghai) Law Firm. The exchange was attended by Lawyer Yu Xiaoqiang, Senior Equity Partner and Executive Director of DHH (Shanghai); Lawyer Bai Yaohua, Senior Equity Partner and researcher at DHH Research Institution; Lawyer Du Yue, Senior Equity Partner and Director of the International Business Department; and Lawyer Wu Qiang, Senior Joint Partner and Executive Director of DHH&DH Japan Business Department.
 

Lawyer Yu Xiaoqiang extended a warm welcome to Dean Takeshita and the delegation, and provided an overview of DHH Law Firm, including its development history, areas of expertise, and lawyer staffing. Lawyers Du Yue and Wu Qiang elaborated on cross-border international business, overseas offices, the establishment of the Japan office, and professional fields such as international arbitration and other cross-border dispute resolutions. They expressed that DHH can offer extensive and high-quality legal support and services to large foreign-funded enterprises in China, including Japanese-funded enterprises, while also assisting Chinese companies in expanding overseas to Japan, Southeast Asia, and other countries and regions by collaborating with overseas law firms to provide local legal services.
 

The participants engaged in extensive and in-depth discussions on common topics between China and Japan, such as the application of artificial intelligence in criminal and civil justice, as well as international arbitration. Both sides stated that the exchange had enhanced mutual understanding between Japanese universities and Chinese law firms and would be highly beneficial for fostering further cooperation and exchanges in the future.
