DHH (Shanghai) Visits the Asia Pacific International Arbitration Court for Exchange

On September 18, Lawyer Yu Xiaoqiang, the Executive Director and Senior Equity Partner, Lawyer Xing Zhifan, Senior Equity Partner and Director of the Commercial Dispute Resolution Department, Lawyer Wu Qiang, Senior Joint Partner and Executive Director of the Japan Business Team, Lawyer Cheng Binglu, Senior Joint Partner, and Lawyer Yang Li, Joint Partner of Beijing DHH(Shanghai) Law Firm, visited the Shanghai Office of the East China Service Center of the Asia Pacific International Arbitration Court (APIAC). They were warmly received by Mr. Pan Lingji, the Chief Representative for Southeast Asia of APIAC and Director of its Tokyo Office, and Mr. Dai Jiajie, the Secretary-General of the Japan Office.
 

Lawyer Yu Xiaoqiang, along with the participating lawyers, provided an overview of DHH, including its general profile, areas of expertise, legal team, and the Japan Business Team. They highlighted the firm's strengths in criminal law, international trade and customs, cross-border international business, and foreign-related dispute resolution, among other specialized fields. They also shared updates on the progress of establishing branch offices in ASEAN countries, including the newly established office in Indonesia and the ongoing efforts to establish a physical presence in Tokyo.
 
The two sides engaged in professional exchanges and discussions centered around the legal practical needs of Chinese enterprises going global, covering topics such as methods and outcomes of cross-border dispute resolution, applicable laws in international arbitration, recognition and enforcement of international arbitration awards, and key points of the recently announced amendments to the arbitration law. They also had extensive and in-depth discussions on leveraging their respective strengths and expertise to explore various forms of business promotion and cooperation. Both sides agreed that there is a high degree of overlap and complementarity in their businesses in key countries and regions such as Southeast Asia (including Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia, etc.) and Japan. During the process of marketing layout and business implementation, they could achieve synergistic effects and mutual empowerment through resource sharing. Both parties reached a consensus and proposed to continuously deepen mutual understanding and trust, jointly organize various professional exchange activities to solidify the foundation for cooperation, and ultimately achieve win-win cooperation and collaborative development.
