To celebrate the 76th anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China and the 76th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Russia, the Chinese Embassy in Russia grandly held a reception in Moscow on September 26. Over 1,500 guests attended the event, including Ambassador Zhang Hanhui and his wife, First Vice-Chairman of the State Duma (the lower house of the Russian parliament) and Chairman of the Russia-China Friendship Association Melnikov, nearly 50 Russian political figures at or above the vice-ministerial level and friendly personages from all walks of life, envoys of more than 80 countries and international organizations in Russia, as well as representatives of Chinese-funded institutions and enterprises, overseas students, and overseas Chinese in Russia. In his speech, Ambassador Zhang Hanhui pointed out that under the strategic guidance of the two countries' heads of state, China-Russia relations are at the highest level in history. He emphasized that the unilateral visa-free policy for Russia recently implemented on a trial basis by China will inject new impetus into deepening all-round and multi-field cooperation between the two countries.
