DHH Lawyers Representing "ROEPER及图" and "七彩华龄" Successfully Win Trademark Disputes

Yun Bao Natural Raw Materials (Qingdao) Co., Ltd is the German Yun Bao company, established in China as a wholly foreign-owned enterprise. The parent company has used the "ROEPER及图" trademark for a long period of time for its natural plant materials and other goods. The trademark for this company is very important, but the brand has been subjected to malicious cybersquatting by competitors in China. Yun Bao Natural Raw Materials (Qingdao) Co., Ltd instructed DHH Partner Wang Haijun, lawyer Gao Shuxun and others in Beijing to initiate legal proceedings. The trademark dispute case encountered two administrative reviews lasting for five years. Finally, the State Administrative Industry and Commerce Trademark Review Committee adopted DHH's advice, making a ruling on the trademark dispute review to not approve the registration of the trademark in accordance with the law.
In order to develop and promote the geriatric industry in Qingdao, the Qingdao City Geriatric Committee openly called for a geriatric services brand logo. After the brand logo was confirmed as "七彩华龄" colourful springtime of youth), in 2010 it was subjected to more than a dozen cases of cybersquatting by a Qingdao shipping company, and a Qingdao bio-technology company. DHH Partner Wang Haijun and legal assistant Wang Xiao in Beijing in 2011 represented Qingdao City Geriatric Services Centre in the preliminary validation of the trademark within the limitation period for initiating the trademark dispute. Recently the trademark office ruled that the two companies' registration of "七彩华龄" colourful springtime of youth) will not be approved.
